Folgendes erzählt Plato der Legende nach seinen Schülern

…Als die uralten Götter die Menschen erschufen, formten sie ein vollkommenes Wesen.

Alles, was dieses Wesen benötigte, fand es in sich selbst, denn es hatte einen weiblichen und männlichen Anteil, zwei Köpfe, und je vier Gliedmaßen. Mächtige farbige Schwingen trugen es durch die Welt.

Es kannte keinen Neid, keine Missgunst und keinen Hass, und seine Seele war erfüllt vom Licht der selbstvergessenen Liebe.

Da wurden die Götter neidisch auf die Schönheit und Vollkommenheit dieser Existenz, denn ihre Schöpfung hatte den Schöpfer übertroffen. In ihrer Wut teilten sie die Menschen in zwei Teile und verstreuten die Bruchstücke im Universum.

Seit dieser Zeit wandeln die Menschen allein durch die Welt und sind auf der Suche nach dem anderen, dem verschollenen Teil, ihrer Seelen.

Nur wenn uns ein gütiges Geschick den verlorenen Seelenverwandten über den Weg führt, können wir für kurze Momente an der einstigen Glückseligkeit, Ganzheit und Geborgenheit teilhaben…..

….und nur wenn wir wirklich ganz selbstvergessen lieben wachsen uns Flügel.
